" Just As They Should Be" oil on masonite, 24 in x 36 in

oil on masonite, 24in x 36in

I wanted to do a piece that depicted children,"Just As They Should Be." I find that too often they are robbed of these moments for a harsher reality. The circumstances of an environment that is completely out of their control.

Shapes, paint and values on this are all great. I just get confused when I try to figure out how they are both next to each other and the chains go in different directions. Don't know that I would change anything though, that diagonal is a nice element.

Lately, I have really been into value control in painting. This has been of my favorites! Really beautifully handled.

I miss thee Brock!

You have a good eye for design and your touch of the brush is very unique. This one is a winner.
